Hello, I’m Bob. I’m a former primary school teacher with over 12 years of classroom experience, based in Whitley Bay in the North East of England. I specialise in Upper Key Stage 2 Maths, English and Science, with extensive experience preparing pupils for Year 6 SATs and supporting a confident transition to secondary school.

Throughout my career, I have worked with a wide range of learners — from children needing to close gaps and rebuild confidence, to those striving for greater depth and higher attainment. I understand the academic and emotional pressures that can arise in Years 5 and 6, and I create calm, structured sessions where pupils feel supported, challenged and capable.

My Lessons

I deliver engaging, personalised lessons tailored to each student’s needs and learning style. I believe learning should be fun, interactive, and motivating, so I take the time to understand how each child learns best. This allows me to structure sessions that build confidence, strengthen core skills, and make progress clear and achievable — including preparing them for a smooth transition to secondary school.

My standard rate is £30 per hour for 1:1 tuition.

I also offer flexible packages for families who would like longer-term support or SATs preparation:

5 hours: £140 (save £10 compared to standard hourly rate)

10 hours: £275 (save £25 compared to standard hourly rate)

To help families get started, I offer a free 30-minute trial session. This allows your child to experience my teaching style and for us to discuss their individual needs before committing to regular lessons.

Sessions can be booked weekly or flexibly, and I am happy to tailor lesson lengths and content to suit your child’s learning goals.
