About Dr Theresa

Hello! I am Dr Theresa, a London-based Biology tutor with a PhD in Molecular Cell Biology awarded in 2020. I have more than eight years of research experience and over a decade of teaching experience. I have a genuine passion for helping students understand Biology clearly and confidently.

I began online tutoring in mid-2025 and have since taught over 300 Biology lessons to students around the world. I work with learners at KS2, KS3, GCSE, A-level and IB where I support students of all abilities, from those who lack confidence to high-achievers aiming for top grades.

As well as tutoring, I have taught healthcare sciences to primary and secondary school pupils, and molecular and cell biology to undergraduate, MSc and PhD students.

This broad teaching background permits me to explain complex ideas very simply where I tailor the lesson to each student’s level and learning style.

About the lesson

I use an interactive whiteboard-based approach with clear diagrams and minimal text. I annotate the explanations live during the lesson so students can follow the thinking step-by-step, ask questions as we go along, and leave with clear notes they can use in revision. This method avoids information overload and helps students to truly understand concepts and not just memorise them. I also incorporate exam-style questions and exam technique specifically for GCSE, A-level and IB.
