About Déyana
I'm excited to meet you! I know we will be an inspiration to each other. Let me tell you a little about my background with music. I'm pretty sure I was born to sing! I love music and have been singing as long as I can remember. I sang in the choir growing up & every other chance I got (talent shows, singing reality show auditions, etc). I went to Howard University for musical theatre, and then I became a music teacher for about 5 years. Now, I just want to work with students who have music in their hearts! I love to have fun but I also expect every student to be on their best behavior AND respect our time together.

I'm fun! I'm quirky! I'm spunky! My approach to learning is to break everything down & work with you until you succeed. A typical lesson plan will include some sort of icebreaker, a warmup, some movement & best of all, a lot of music! I typically work with students in K-6th grade. If you love music as much as I do, we should absolutely connect. Believe me, it's meant to be!
