I was Matt's teacher while he completed secondary education as well as his supervisor for the Duke of Edinburgh scheme.
Matt was organised in meeting deadlines. He is hugely articulate which was a real strength. He could debate effectively. He was also kind to others who sometimes struggled with A level and supported them. He likes to make sure that he has mastery of the content. He was also great in ensuring discipline and self- discipline in others. So on the Duke of Edinburgh hikes he would organise menus and keep up morale. If supervising younger students he was firm but fun and they would behave for him.
He is a natural teacher in that he is interested in the world around him, he is intelligent and articulate and encourages independence when helping others rather than just spoon feeding.
