About Amina

Hi, I’m Amina- a dedicated and approachable Psychology student currently completing my placement year in a special needs school as part of my BSc Psychology degree at Cardiff University. Working closely with students with a range of learning needs has strengthened my understanding of how people learn differently and of the importance of patience, adaptability, and empathy in education. I’ve been tutoring for over three years, helping students build confidence, develop strong exam technique, and achieve the grades they deserve. My lessons are always tailored to individual learning styles and focus on understanding concepts deeply, not just memorising them. I pride myself on being professional, reliable, and supportive, creating a friendly environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making progress at their own pace. I believe that with the right guidance and mindset, every student can excel.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is entirely student-focused and flexible- I adapt each session to suit the learner’s needs, whether that’s covering new content, improving essay writing, or refining exam technique. I use science-based learning methods, particularly active recall and spaced repetition, to make sure information is truly understood and retained rather than just memorised. A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, starting with a short recap and goal-setting discussion, followed by focused learning activities and practice questions. I also place great emphasis on building confidence, as I believe this is key to academic success. My lessons are designed to be friendly, engaging, and supportive. I’m currently in my third year of a Psychology BSc at Cardiff University and have over three years of experience tutoring. I’ve helped students achieve top grades and develop strong exam skills. My lessons are ideal for A-Level Psychology students and GCSE Chemistry students who want structured support, exam preparation, essay help, or to deepen their understanding of key topics.
