About Jay
I am an undergraduate student at the University of Bristol studying Criminology, but have been and remain interested in the field of history, particularly post WW1 Germany and the transition prior to WW2.
My experience during my time so far in education was that many teachers were not able to teach in a way that was engaging to me, and so I strive to be a tutor that can personalise lessons tailored to your needs to ensure engagement, as well as the end result that you wish to achieve when exams come roll around. For example, I can assist you with exam technique, or help you build upon knowledge that you may have started to learn in class but do not fully understand, as I believe that fully understanding the context behind what you are learning is key, and yet many schools lack this in their teaching.

As a recent relatively recent GCSE and A level student myself,I am aware that there are a number of students who may learn in different ways to those taught by their teachers, and so my tutoring would offer a more personalised session, catering to the needs of the individual to achieve the best possible results. Sessions may involve working on a specific sub-topic that the student is having trouble with, or can involve more general revision style sessions where we will go through the course together, with me providing feedback on exam-style questions that you answer to work on knowledge but also exam technique. My lessons are primarily for GCSE History students studying Germany,although I am also capable of teaching and marking A level Germany courses. As for criminology, I am comfortable teaching A level students.
It should be noted that I do not have any official prior experience as a tutor. However, I see this as an opportunity to develop experience for my future goal of becoming a college lecturer, a path that I have chosen to follow after discussions with lecturers that I have been taught by, who believe that I have the skills required to teach.
