About Shannon
I have been passionate about teaching since I can remember! I am from South Africa and moved to the UK to make this dream come true. I am head of year for Year 1. I work closely with Phonics leads to assist children in making progress in both reading and writing.

I have trained in EYFS and KS1, which has allowed me to dive deeply into early reading, writing and phonetic knowledge. I have completed 3 phonics screenings with my class, prepping them. As each year has gone on, the pass rate has increased. I am studying my Master's in research-based education with Oracy at the forefront.
