About Stefan

I'm Stefan, a full-time Biology and Chemistry tutor with over 12 years' experience and more than 1,000 hours of online tuition. I hold a First Class MSci in Pharmacology from University College London, where studying how medicines work gave me a strong grounding in the connections between Chemistry and Biology.

Before becoming a full-time tutor, I worked in scientific research at UCL, Yale University and Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. I bring that scientific curiosity to my lessons, helping students see the reasoning behind the material they study.

My teaching is patient, friendly and encouraging. I break challenging ideas into manageable steps, adapt explanations to each student's needs and build confidence through guided practice. My aim is to help you understand the subject and approach unfamiliar exam questions with a clear method.

About the lesson

Chemistry is easier to approach when the underlying ideas make sense. My lessons combine clear explanations with worked examples and focused exam practice, helping you connect theory to calculations, reactions and experimental evidence.

I teach GCSE and IGCSE Chemistry, A-Level Chemistry and IB Chemistry at Standard and Higher Level, supporting AQA, Edexcel, OCR and Cambridge International courses. I can also help with Chemistry Olympiad preparation.

Lessons are tailored to your goals. We might work through mole calculations, explain bonding and equilibrium, practise organic mechanisms or interpret graphs and experimental data. Past papers and mark schemes help develop accurate terminology, structured answers and effective exam technique.

Online lessons use an interactive whiteboard such as Bitpaper. I offer a free 30-minute introductory session to discuss your needs. Please send your course, exam board, year group and priority topics when enquiring.
