About Saira

Over the last 5 years, I have tutored students in a range of subjects, both privately and on contract for various companies and schools. I am also currently an A-Level Mathematics teacher at a private institution located in Kensington. I am confident in my ability to adjust my teaching styles successfully, catering to students of different age groups and learning preferences.

Whilst simultaneously completing a Mathematics degree at Kings College London (due to graduate in Jan 2023), I also taught A-Level Maths to students through their college/sixth form years . I have extensive experience of teaching on a one-to-one basis and have also tutored in group settings, ensuring all my students achieve excellent results. I am proud of my tutees who have gone on to study at Russell Group universities. Having taught Mathematics for over 5 years, I have expert subject knowledge and passion to match. I am aware of the various teaching approaches and strategies, assessing my students needs and applying the relevant tools and techniques suited to them. I have been employed by companies such as Maths With Dan, Education Unlocked and Tutorvise and thoroughly enjoy teaching higher level Mathematics, my specialty. I am fortunate to have worked with multiple companies, giving me exposure to a wider variety of students from different localities, backgrounds and levels of education. I apply equality and inclusivity in all my interactions and ensure each student is offered the support required to guarantee success. I tailor my teaching methods to individual needs and set a pace in which pupils are able to understand content and still be challenged. I am very thorough in my explanation of topics and techniques and will make sure my students possess a good baseline knowledge of the subject, easing them into higher level material.

Furthermore, I have worked in schools, holding revision sessions and weekend classes. I am experienced in teaching up to 20 students at a time, within a classroom environment, demonstrating my ability to teach at a larger scale, effectively ensuring that each student is given time, support and fair learning opportunities. I make certain that this is in line with their individual needs and targets.

About the lesson

I begin with a minor assessment to target students issues with specific topics and tackle each individual problem. My teaching is catered towards each students level and I plan each lesson accordingly. I go through examples step by step, provide questions and homework for students and help them work through more challenging questions with small hints, notes etc

Saira is a supportive and patient tutor who dedicates a lot of time in helping you fully understand areas of uncertainty. When tutoring she makes you feel comfortable to ask questions and always asks if there is anything you still don’t understand and then further helps you. She tutors you on what you specifically do not understand and targets areas of weaknesses with you which is very helpful.Saira has definitely help improve my maths grade, highly recommend her as a tutor.
