About Ruby

My name is Ruby, and I’m a 21-year-old recent graduate with a genuine passion for English and education. Having recently completed my own studies, I’m excited to channel my enthusiasm for the subject into tutoring and help other students develop their own confidence, skills and appreciation for English.

Outside of academics, I’m an avid reader, with some of my favourite books being To Kill a Mockingbird, Giovanni’s Room and, as a guilty pleasure, The Hunger Games! I love exploring different perspectives through literature and building my own idiolect from various authors’ voices.

During college, I tutored A-level Philosophy and absolutely loved the experience. It gave me the opportunity to support students in their studies, share my enthusiasm for a subject and help make challenging concepts more accessible. I’m excited to bring that same passion and supportive approach to English tutoring.

About the lesson

About My Lessons

My English Literature and Language tutoring sessions are designed to be fun, engaging and tailored to each individual student. I believe that every student learns differently, so my lessons are built around their unique needs and goals.

We’ll begin with an initial meeting to discuss what the student hopes to achieve through tutoring, identify any areas they would like to focus on, and create a plan that works for them. From there, each lesson will be structured to build confidence, develop understanding and make learning enjoyable.

I aim to make lessons interactive and supportive, using a variety of approaches to keep students engaged. Each session will also be accompanied by tailored handouts and supporting resources, allowing students to revisit key concepts, practise their skills and consolidate their learning between lessons.

Whether the goal is to strengthen subject knowledge, improve essay writing, develop analytical skills or prepare for exams, my aim is to help every student feel confident, supported and motivated to reach their full potential.
