About Amma
My name is Amma and I am currently an undergraduate student. My educational journey has been far from linear or a trajectory that you would typically expect. My experiences have taught me that it is possible for anyone to succeed if you are driven and willing to put in as much effort as possible. My own learning experiences have driven me to tutor and share the possibilities of academics to other young people. It has also shown me that once you find out how you learn the most effectively, it will unveil a newfound confidence within you. This is what I am here for ! I am a big believer in creating a warm and comfortable learning environment. I studied sociology at A level and currently at degree, so I have a great depth of knowledge and understanding. English was one of my strongest subjects, achieving an 8 and 9 at GCSE, therefore I am familiar with the mark scheme and what examiners are looking for in order to achieve the top grades. A typical length of my lessons will range from 45 minutes to an hour depending on where each student is at. For my 45 minute lessons that will be more focused on timed or guided practice questions alongside new content that needs to be learned. For my hour lessons this is broken down into covering and teaching content, personalised learning tools that are best suited for the student as well as guided exam practice. Being neurodiverse myself I am also able to structure sessions in a way that is friendly for students diagnosed with Dyslexia and ADHD.
