About Madeleine
Who I Am
I'm Maddy - a Sydney-based film and television professional with ten years' experience working as an Assistant Director and producer's assistant. I hold a Media degree from Macquarie University, a Fine Arts (Acting) degree from QUT, and studied Film and Construction Project Management at UTS. Over the past decade on set, I've coached and directed actors and extras of all ages - including plenty of children - helping first-timers find their confidence in front of a camera. I hold a current Working with Children Check.
Why I Teach
I've spent my career watching people transform the moment someone believes in them —-a nervous first-time extra who finds their footing, a young actor who finally relaxes into a scene. That's the same thing I want to bring to tutoring. I don't think learning has to feel like hard work; when it's fun, and when someone feels genuinely encouraged rather than judged, that's when real growth happens. Whether it's a student finding their voice in creative writing, building the confidence to speak in public, or just falling in love with storytelling for the first time, I want every lesson to feel like the start of something exciting rather than another thing to get through.

My Approach
Lessons are built around confidence and storytelling - I believe learning sticks best when it's genuinely fun. Drawing on ten years directing actors and extras on film sets (including plenty of young performers), I bring the same techniques that get first-time performers comfortable in front of a camera into the tutoring room: warm-up exercises, playful structure, and real encouragement that builds confidence rather than pressure. Whether we're workshopping a piece of creative writing or preparing for a speech, the goal is always to make the process feel exciting, not intimidating.

One hour per session.
