About Profe
I’m Shawny — an Argentine tango dancer, artist, and bilingual teacher who believes language is meant to be lived, not memorized. I became fluent in Spanish while living in Colombia and Argentina for 4 years — and I know exactly what it takes to get there. My accent sounds native Colombian, and I teach you how to think in Spanish, not just translate in your head. I specialize in helping: 1. Digital nomads & travelers who want to connect deeply with local culture. 2. Second-generation learners reconnecting with family and heritage. 3. Retirees and slow travelers seeking confidence and immersion abroad. My classes are creative, story-based, and focused on communicating - not translating! You’ll be speaking and communicating from DAY 1! Together, we’ll speak from day one, build real confidence, and celebrate every small victory on your fluency journey.

I teach through TPRS (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling) — an approach that uses storytelling, conversation, and active imagination to build fluency. Instead of focusing on drills or endless grammar charts, we co-create stories, play with dialogue, and use gestures, visuals, and emotional connection to make new vocabulary stick.
Each lesson builds confidence in listening, speaking, and thinking in Spanish — all in a relaxed, judgment-free environment.
