About Tess

For the past 14 years, I have been teaching ESL to High School and College students with dedication and passion. I have successfully worked with 150–200 students, helping them improve their English skills and achieve academic success.

I see education as a lifelong journey. My role as a tutor is not only to teach language but also to build confidence and motivation. I focus on clear explanations, regular practice, and consistent feedback to ensure steady progress.

A proud milestone in my career has been witnessing students overcome their fear of speaking English. Many of them now communicate confidently in class and during presentations. Their growth is my greatest achievement.

I maintain a friendly and respectful classroom atmosphere where students feel comfortable sharing ideas. I adjust my teaching methods according to each learner’s needs and goals.

My aim is to inspire students to enjoy learning and to use English confidently in their academic and future professional lives.

About the lesson

My ESL teaching approach focuses on communication and practical use of English. I believe language is best learnt through meaningful interaction. I use real-life case studies and everyday examples to help students understand how English works in real situations.

For example, students practise speaking through discussions about news, workplace scenarios, travel plans, and academic topics. This improves fluency and confidence. I encourage students to think in English rather than translate from their native language.

Motivation plays a big role in my classroom. I create a friendly and respectful learning space. I appreciate effort and guide students to stay consistent in practice.

Problem-solving is used whenever students face challenges. If pronunciation is difficult, we practise sound drills. If grammar is confusing, I simplify it with examples and comparisons. I focus on solutions rather than criticism.

Integrity means I provide clear, honest, and constructive feedback. I keep lessons organised and goal-oriented.

Flexibility allows me to modify lessons according to different age groups and proficiency levels. Besides ESL, I also teach grammar foundations, conversation practice, academic English, email writing, presentation skills, and communication skills for professionals.
