About Alex
I graduated from the University of Dundee in 2015 with an MA degree in Politics and Public Policy, during which time I began tutoring in my free time. Since then, I have qualified as a TESOL (Teaching English As A Second Language) teacher, I have taught survival English in a refugee camp in Athens before starting work as a teaching assistant in 2018, which I have worked as for the past three years. Outside of work, I am a keen cook, runner and enjoy watching football and reading historical novels and political biographies.

I have been tutoring for several years and having used this experience to assist children in a classroom setting, I feel very confident in my ability to get the best out of any given student in my subjects and I know what each student is different and has different educational needs.
Having worked at an SEN school for the last two and a half years, I know the importance of patience and understanding with each individual student and my approach to tutoring is one of patience and steadily building up the confidence of my students to ensure that all of their needs are met.
During lockdown over the COVID-19 pandemic, I supported the online learning of my students and I have the skills to keep students engaged and focused over this medium and ensure that they get as much out of their learning online as they would in person.
