About Jason

How does your business stand out?

I started playing violin at the age of five, received a full tuition scholarship on violin to the University of Miami, and now have over 20 years experience teaching strings full time in the public schools of Passaic County. I also perform with 3 orchestras in the tri-state area, and presently teach 18 students privately ranging in age from 6-60 yrs old. All students come to my home studio for lessons once a week. Beginners receive 30 minutes, intermediates 45, and advanced, an hour. I'm very flexible and varied in the styles of music I know and teach-- I've taught classical, jazz improv, fiddle, pop and rock. The first introductory lesson is always free of charge with no obligation onwards. I have plenty of references available, and would love to start up lessons with you as soon as possible!

I have a bachelor's of music education from the University of Miami, and a masters in educational leadership from William Paterson University. Additionally, I'm Suzuki trained and certified and have over 20 years of experience teaching strings

Violin lessons offered by Jason are tailored to each student's needs and level. Lessons can also be held online. Lessons are also available in Wayne. The first lesson is free to define learning goals and methodology.

Through him I was able to successfully audition and thrive in the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra (NJSO). He's very meticulous in his students' technique, articulation, tempo, and truly cares for their success. I highly recommend him for anyone who is looking for a teacher that will stay with the student for many years and is willing to put in the hours at home to reap the benefits of a high quality performer.

Learning a new instrument can be challenging especially for younger kids. Jason is a phenomenal teacher. He is patient and kind with kids and pushes them just enough so they keep improving. He always has time to answer questions from the kids and parents. Our son has grown to really love the violin and looks forward to his lessons every week.

Mr. L is a fabulous teacher who has taught my daughter violin lessons since she started at the age of 6 --she's 13 now and still enjoys going to lessons week after week. Jason is patient, funny, knowledgeable, and (most importantly) has made learning violin fun for my daughter! Highly recommended

Depending on the playing experience of the student, I charge $40 for a 30 minute beginner's lesson, $60 for a 45 minute intermediate level lesson, and $75 for an hour's advanced lesson
