About Aaron
Norwin alumnus Aaron R. Blackham has expressed his passion for playing and teaching the violin in Western PA ever since he picked up the instrument 26 years ago. He hopes to foster a love of music in the community as his teachers have. He has a Bachelor’s in Music from Slippery Rock University and a Master’s in Music from Penn State University. He is active as a local performer with orchestras such as the Westmoreland Symphony and Butler County Symphony, and he plays in a bluegrass band. He encourages students to study what inspires them, helping them to reach a diversity of audiences. He is comfortable teaching violin and viola technique to beginning, intermediate, and advancing students, interweaving broader education about music theory, history, and business into lessons.
