About Kasa
Kasa de Franko (KDF), a well-established language school in the Silicon Valley, teaches Spanish and English both online and in-person to students from a variety of different backgrounds. KDF specializes in teaching adults, children, teenagers, small business groups, and institutions.
The conversational approach to learning a language is emphasized at KDF. We believe in the importance of communicating messages that mean something to the student. Instead of straight repetition and rote memorization, we believe that meaningful learning is vital as students can relate material learned in class to their lives.
KDF is dedicated to teaching students in San Jose & the Bay Area to embrace not just sentence structure, but la cultura as well. KDF’s mission is to give students an insight into the Spanish-speaking world and help them develop a deeper appreciation for Latin American cultures while learning to appreciate their own. It is always important to translate ideas, rather than words. That’s why KDF emphasizes conversation to learn and review Spanish grammar and syntax while using context to understand meaning.
Teaching is not a just a profession—it is a passion. Sharing the Spanish culture and teaching languages is far more rewarding than just making a living. Language instruction is more than just explaining grammar, assessing pronunciation, and memorizing vocabulary—students find much more than that in KDF’s classes.
