About Emily
I am a master's student with undergraduate degrees in Neuroscience and Anthropology. Throughout my career as a student, I have realized that my biggest passion is learning- and this is a passion I want to share with other students. Practicing difficult concepts, making confusing concepts simple, and approachability are the tenets of my tutoring.
I began tutoring high school students when I was in college and realized how rewarding it was. As a bit of a professional student myself, I also realized that I have developed very effective study and learning habits over the years that are very valuable to share with other students.

Establish what they want to get out of our sessions- is it help with editing essays? New approaches to studying that will help with memorization and comprehension? A conversation partner to practice Spanish? Learning what my student would like to accomplish is the most important step. After this, I make a customized plan and schedule to lay out exactly how sessions will go, and we dive in. If at any point the student feels that what we are doing isn't working, we refine our approach together
