About Rachel
I am a Maryland state certified teacher with 4 years of teaching experience in public schools and over 10 years of private tutoring experience. I am a fluent Spanish speaker, and I have studied in Guatemala and lived in Mexico for several years. I am not a native speaker, which some might see as a disadvantage. However, I feel that this gives me more insight into how to teach and tutor Spanish as a second language. Many people do not know how to teach concepts of a language that they learned as a young child, but I had to learn all of the grammar rules and nuances of the language as I began speaking Spanish later in life.
I love working with children and seeing them have fun while they are learning! It is exciting for me to think of creative ideas to teach and practice concepts and then implement them in my next class or tutoring session.
