About Chun Yu Katie
I am Katie Lam and I am a freshman at Emory University (ranked US News T21 best national universities). Like many other students, I once faced great trouble with the SAT and began at a relatively low starting point as compared to my peers with only 1080 on the PSAT. I was eager to raise my score and, thus, tried all methods I could, including taking SAT prep classes myself. From the trials and errors, I devised my own study method and, in the end, scored 1520 on my final official SAT attempt (this breaks down to 740 on reading & writing and 780 on math). I know what it is like to struggle with the SAT and, most importantly, how to conquer it. I am definitely capable of offering the SAT tutoring service that would meet your needs.
I have been offering tutoring services since high school sophomore year. I started as a pre-calculus peer tutor that educated struggling individuals on specific topics and helpful learning strategies. What makes my service great would be that I am constantly trying to communicate with my students. The communication would not only help me access my students' progress but also teach me what I do to best assist the students to reach their goals.
I just graduated high school and will be attending Emory University (ranked top 21 in US news best national universities) next fall. I am an experienced tutor. I had been trained and worked as a math peer tutor for three years in high school. In addition to that, I currently am tutoring high school students in English.
