About Kerri
Hello! My name is Mrs. Johnson and I am a certified Reading Specialist Pre-K through adult. I am also certified in Elementary Education! I am a Title I Reading Specialist when I am not helping others at Butterfly Reading Academy. I have been teaching for 15 years in West Virgina and am very excited to start helping students reach their very highest reading and grammar potentials!
I have always wanted to be a teacher since I was a little girl! I studied education in college and was a substitute teacher for a few years after I graduated. I went back to graduate school and got my Masters Degree in reading and I am so happy I made that decision! Is is my passion!

We begin by getting to know each other! I want to know your interestes, likes, favorite hobbies! This helps me learn what you might want to spend time reading about! We will never read anything that you consider boring! I want you to be engaged at all times! We can only begin this process by getting to know each other!
I have worked with students from Kindergarten to 5th grade and I have also taught 2nd grade as a classroom teacher aside from all the years as a title one teacher.
Look for someone who is not only dedicated to helping you succeed but wants to be silly and have a great time while teaching! It is so important to have a bond with your teacher!
I was very proud of my last event at my current school called "Bingo For Books." Family Involvement activities are my speciality! So many students and family members showed up to my event to play bingo and win free books. It was a huge success.
