About Wilson

Just to start things off: whatever situation you’re in, whether it’s a casual or urgent need for tutoring, I’m positively sure that I understand where you’re coming from through personal experience. As a recent college graduate, I can closely relate to stress and scheduling involved in doing well in high school and college.

Additionally, I've volunteered to tutor underserved high school students in San Diego and taught for my own class of students as a teaching assistant. I also understand that, especially for college students, money and timing are major constraints on reaching out for help. As such, my business model focuses on affordable and flexible 1:1 tutoring - I don't have a fixed rate and will be more than happy to negotiate a cost works for you! After all, teaching students is something that I love to do, and comes before profits - I was a student too not very long ago and I just want to help out!

As for a little bit more about my mission and tutoring approach - I don't believe that tutoring is complete with just teaching the concepts or correcting mistakes. Instead, good tutoring must come with good mentoring too, and I've invested time (even off the clock) to work with my students at both my volunteering and my teaching assistant role. For many of these students, mindset and perspective play just as big a role as actually knowing the material, and I've done my best to support them.

Now, why should you believe that I know what I’m teaching? Well, for starters, I got my Bachelor’s of Science in Biology in 2018, graduating with Summa Cum Laude status. I also got my Master’s of Science in Biology this June 2019. If you’re still in doubt, you’re welcome to see my numbers: 3.97 cumulative GPA in undergrad, 4.0 in my graduate career. And for my fellow pre-med college students: I scored in the 97th percentile on the MCAT as well. I’m also always accessible via email for questions (if tutoring in person), no added charge. Let’s work together to ace your classes!
