About Aesop

About Us: The Little Brick Art House is a labour of love inspired by the power of art and dedicated to the memory of Jean Michel Basquiat, a famous artist whom the founder, Niko, met in Hawaii when he was a boy.

Instruction: At Little Brick Art House, each student receives personalized, one-on-one instruction, designed to uncover and develop the artist that already exists in everyone, but that perhaps hasn't yet been dicsovered. If the student is more advanced, the focus shifts to assisting the artist in finding and expressing his or her truly unique "voice". In either case, we listen to our students to be sure we understand exactly what their goals are. And, once goals are clear, we create an action plan, with milestones, and make sure each one is met.

Educational Background: Each of our teachers has received their university and graduate level degrees. Addtionally, we speak multiple languages, and have traveled and worked all over the world. In this way, we provide a uniquely international educational experience that employs a multi-cultural approach to the myriad of styles and techiques of art that exist today.

Conclusion: At Little Brick Art House, we unquivocally guarantee our work. This means that unless the student is completly satisfied, the cost of the lessons are free. That said, we are proud to say that in over two decades of teaching art, not a single student has been dissatified with the instruction they received. In fact, some have even gone on to be quite well known and successful artists.

In conclusion, we believe we are successful because we love art. Our highest hope is that by the time we've shown you the possibilities in art, that you will love it too!

Art is the great love of my life. It is so great, in fact, that I do not even call it work -- I make and teach art because it's my oxygen!

I worked as an art and photography teacher in Central South America (where I also learned to speak Spanish fluently), as well as in India.

I am a university graduate with a post-university (doctorate) degree. I've worked professionally and as an artist and teahcer for over 30 years.

About the lesson

We do an initial interview to be sure understand the new student's goals. Also, we try to asses the student's artistic knowledge and capacity, and ultimately, we create a plan of action, with milestones, to be sure the student acheives a quantifiable result.

I've workled with stiudents of all ages and backgrounds. Ive had special success and "break-throughs" with students with autism.

Be sure the teacher you select loves art and makes art too, because only someomne who loves art and makes art can really teach it.

Teaching a young girl with who lost the use of her hands to paint with her toes. To date, she is one of my most beloved students and she continues to paint to this day.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Think about why you want to learn art. Think about what goals you would like to acheive. Also, keep in mind that you do not have to have goals or even think about anything at all to make and enjoy art. In our experience, we find the best art is made when we are not thinking about goals or about anything at all!
