About Tom

I am now retired, and see many people who seem to be struggling with the expensive cameras they have. I feel I could help them use more of the features available.

I really enjoy sharing knowledge and helping people. I am now trying to find a more organized and benificial way to do more.

Aside from 50 years of experience using a variety of camera types and styles, I do have a degree in photography from Milwaukee Area Technical college.

About the lesson

Nothing is typical when it comes to sharing knowledge, but here's what I am thinking.

I would like to start by discussing the students desires, and needs. I really don't think think I could teach you to be a great photographer, as I feel aartistic talent is a gift.

Starting with the fundamentals of what each and every control on your camera can do seems like a great place to start. The relationship between aperature, shutter speed, and ISO is very fundamental, and your understanding it can be the tool to release your visions, and make them reality.

From very young to very old, out in the field, I often see people struggling with settings. I often stop to help them.

It is important too choose someone who you can communicate with, and whom you trust.

I recently spent a day walking around a nature area with a group of photographers from a camera club that I am involved with. There was so much interaction, and knowledge exchanged. It was a very fun, and rewarding day.

If there was a person who was extremely sharp with photoshop, perhaps an exchange of knowledge could be arranged.
