About Ginger

Hi there

My name is Ginger

I've been shooting since I was a teenager and currently work at a photo studio in downtown LA. If you want to learn the basic settings of your camera and learn how to use studio lights, FD Photo Studios where I work is a really cool place to learn! I'd make a reservation for us, and you'd just bring your camera. All the lights/trigger/backdrops/grip gear is here for us to use and is set up already.

My website is here at: gingereliasphotography.com

My Instagram is gingerelias

Let me know if you have any questions!

I learned a lot about strobe lighting working here at FD Photo studios. Sometimes clients coming in who were new photographers would ask for help during their reservation and then later reach out for lessons.

BA in Film and Media Arts from Temple Universtity

Current employee of FD Photo Studios

About the lesson

I ask questions about what the student is already familiar with - basics like the settings in their camera, how to work the trigger on the lights, how to wrap cords properly, how to set lights and stands up safely. From there we'll move forward with positioning the lights and achieving a look from a reference image. We go over how to shape light, how to make light hard and direct versus soft and feathered, how to light the background separately, and how to make use of V flats to bounce or block light.

Anyone of any age who wants to learn photography.

You don't need to pay $500 for a group lesson where you can't necessarily ask all your questions and get everything you need. And a lot of photoshop tutorials are available on youtube!
