About Christine

Affter twenty-four years as a professional in public school, I decided to give art lessons to neghborhood kids. This worked out great as my small home could seat eight students at a time, and my friend's larger home was wonderful for outdoor sketching. We have been friends for a very long time, and I think this would be a good summer to branch out. I am a working artist as well, and have been for my entire life. Art is my passion. I also have obtained severl credentials in art. After a four year degree, I obtained am MA from Cal State LA and an MFA from the same campus. I am a credentialed teher as wel.

About the lesson

First a pre-instruction review of art exoerience and "good" experience in list form, then an essay about the best of one of the two. This establishes content ... they like that!

After that, we go through the State of California guide to curriculum, step by step with prompts written & explained. I try to make it easy by drawing on a variety of education ideas I've had, including textile design.

I like to help students recall feeling as well as visual experiences they have had with an enmphasis on critical thinking skill as well as technique.
