About Kathy
Kathy shares her knowledge with others by being a photography mentor and creating world-class photo education & inspiration. Katydid Photo courses are structured for beginners and intermediate photographers and span the entire spectrum of learning photography from mastering your camera, understanding lighting, composition and learning how to edit and organize like a pro. Her courses also includes photography exercises and critiques.
Kathy has been teaching for many years and has a top notch following. She has studied under many accomplished professional photographers thru the years. She loves to share and inspire each and every one of her students. Many have gone on to having private shows and selling their work.

I worked for a camera store when I was young. He needed to educate his customers so they would buy more equipment. He threw me into the ring of fire and I learned to teach and found that I loved it!
Kathy has been teaching film photography since 1984 and digital photography since 2005.

The small class size enabled a lot of personalized instruction and encouraged participation. The technical aspects of the class were introduced visually and then demonstrated with "hands-on" exercises. Learning the concepts by actually doing the activities with your own camera led to better comprehension. I had been involved in film photography many years ago and wanted to get up to speed on digital photography. This class helped me to feel comfortable with digital photography in a short period of time and I am now really enjoying my camera. I am very happy to have found the Katydid Photo School.
