About Ricky
The thing I love the most about my job is the nature of photography itself. I just love the feeling of picking up my camera sometimes. Cameras are works of art within themselves. I love using the tools that my camera body offers me. Every image is a challenge. Making a great portrait is a combination of some very important aspects. Shutter speed, aperture and ISO. These three elements can make or break a portrait.
It's these challenges that have kept me excited for over 35 years in photography. The ability to freeze time and to make art simultaneously is just simply amazing for me.

The number one thing I need to know when I'm taking on a student is how much they know about photography already. Have they ever picked up a camera before or have they just started or are they more advanced. Establishing their knowledge base is critical.
