About Jennifer
Seeing the satisfaction that understanding something new brings to people is what excites/motivates me to teach
I started tutoring with helping my younger siblings who are currently of ages 16,11, and 4. After helping with them my dad started referring me to his friends and some of the next door kids would come for help on subjects their parents were unable to assit with.
Although I don't have any experience as a traditional teacher, I do have a lot of experience helping children of different ages with assignments and difficult topics.

First I have to see their level of understanding about the subject in order to comprehend how much assistance is neccessary to help them succeed. Next, learning their preferred style of learning, whether that be visual, or auditory in order to provide a specific teaching method to each student. And finally proceeding to teach in a manner most beneficial to the student and seeing if any changes need to be made to the teaching methods in order to ensure success.
I've worked with kids ages PreK-11th grade.
When looking for a teacher to help you, make sure the teacher is aware of the differnt ways they can help you learn. Everyone learns differntly, so if you need a teacher with more patience and that explains a subject in different ways, make sure that's what you're getting. I think it's really important to find a tutor that helps you in ways that work best for you.

Details
Starting rate for tutoring services is $18 an hour for simpler subjects such as English, Spanish, Basic Math (PreSchool-8th grade), and other elementry and middle school classes. Prices increase as subjects become more difficult such as Algebra 2-Calculus 2, Physics, specific history courses and Spanish Literature, although this depends on difficulty and prices can be negotiated.
