About Nicole

I have been teaching for 7 years, and have spent the past 5 years teaching first grade. For the 2020-2021 school year, I am a fully remote teacher, and have learned effective ways to teach students in small group and full group settings online. I would love to help your child practice their developing reading, writing, and math skills, and to help them become more confident learners.

I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Psychology from Stonehill College. I received my Master's Degree in Language and Literacy from Lesley University. I am currently enrolled in different K-2 graduate courses through Southern New Hampshire University to learn new strategies and build my understanding of the best way to help all students.

I have known that education was the path for me since I was in the third grade. I love helping my students learn and gain confidence, and seeing the "Aha!" moments when new material clicks. Knowing that I am helping students to develop skills that they will need for the rest of their lives makes me so proud to be a teacher.

I have wanted to be a teacher since the third grade, when my third grade teacher opened my eyes to engaging strategies to help teach our class.

I spent my sophomore-senior years in high school working with elementary students and volunteering in different classrooms. I then pursued my degree in elementary education from Stonehill College.

After college, I spent one year as a Teaching Assistant to a fourth grade class before getting my first classroom teaching position in grade 4.

About the lesson

I like to use the first session to get to know the student and work on a wide variety of skills. This helps me to develop an understanding of the learning strategies that work best for them, and helps me to plan future tutoring sessions tailored to their needs.

I have worked with a wide variety of students, and am familiar with teaching strategies to help all students be successful.
