About Emily

I began my college education knowing that teaching would be the end goal. I was hired immediatly after graduating.

I have been teaching now for five years in the fourth grade. I have taught summer school for second grade, interned for 5th grade, and participate weekly in a volunteer group for students of all ages.

I have over 100 professional development hours that I have completed with Florence City Schools.

About the lesson

I will begin with a small practice test based on the students age. I will use an assessment tool that my school system used called "iReady" in order to determine the students needs, personalize their learning, and know where to begin with what is needed first.

I have worked with all types of students including general education, special education, dyslexia, behavioral, autistic and more.

I have worked in a Title 1, inner city school for five years.

Focus on the relationship you make with your teacher. Learning, listening and collaborating with someone that you are fond of makes learning much easier and more enjoyable.

I have truly enjoyed venturing out from 4th grade to help all other ages. It has expanded my knowledge greatly and helped me to become an even better teacher.
