About Lois
I have over 20 years of experience improving the literacy and math skills of elementary and middle school students in a variety of settings. I am a certified reading specialist for grades K-12 and have raised the literacy skills of students from pre-school to high school including verbal SAT scores.
I have a Masters in Elementary Education from Lesley University and a Masters in Reading from Salem State University, both in Massachusetts. I am certified to teach in Massachusetts and Florida after passing a battery of tests in which I demonstrated mastery in general education (child development/child psychology/classroom management), as well as elementary and middle school mathematics, social studies, science and language arts. I am certified in the Wilson Reading System which is a structured literacy program rooted in scientific research into how children learn to read. I developed and implemented literacy goals for students on Individual Education Plans
I will assist your child to master the skills they need to be successful. I will also be a fierce advocate for your child, and I can assist you to negotiate the special education system to ensure your child is receiving the services and accommodations to which they are entitled.
