About Maya
Hi! I’m Maya - an Indy native and a magna cum laude graduate from Yale who has had many different paths and interests over the years. I have tutored with Ivy Tutors in New York, where I helped students develop their writing, communication, and reading comprehension skills, as well as supported them in college prep. I am creative thinker who seeks to foster curious minds; thus, I support my students in not only mastering the material, but also developing critical thinking skills and study strategies in the process. As an active listener and acute observer, I tailor my tutoring style and activities to the unique needs of each student. Though I have primarily focused on humanities and social studies - both in my tutoring experience and in my undergraduate career - I am now going back to school for nursing. I believe this career change allows me to support students in their science studies, as well as mentor them on the possibilities of changing paths. I look forward to working with you!
