1. It is very important to observe the instructor to figure out if he has the right amount of experience and skills to be teaching. Does he look as if he is in control? How focused is his students on him when he is giving instructions? The way the students behave will often make you able to tell if the students respect the instructor or not regarding his teaching abilities.

2. Who teaches classes?

Are classes taught by junior instructors, or certified instructors?  An excellent idea is to ask for the experience level of each instructor (many schools now have complete biographies available for each instructor, complete with lists of accomplishments or specialties).

3. What does the curriculum consist of?

Does the school have an established curriculum for each class, or are classes inconsistent in their structure?  Does the curriculum consist of only physical practice, or are their breathing exercises, principles, & psychological self-defense lessons worked into each class?

We had two senior master from Korea come to our studio to hold special trainning sessions for all levels and members.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What is their goal in learning martial arts is key. Everyone is different and has special goals. Let them know what that is.
