About Lara

Italian, lived in La for 3 years teaching the language, now due to covid restrictions I'm back in Italy but still hold plenty of lessons on Facetime!

Studied Latin and Ancient Greek for 5 years so I can help with that as well.

Great cook! If you wanna learn how to speak and eat like an Italian you’ve got the right person!

I love words and I think Italian is a beautiful ancient language that can be fun and not scary at all if approached with the right attitude.

I love to see people's faces light up when they uderstand what I'm saying to them and when they start communicating back to you.

Let's learn Italian together, there's much more than pasta and pizza to discover :)

I always had a passion for teaching and people seemed to enjoy my explanations since an early age.

I started tutoring in school and discovered I actually really enjoy it, so I transitioned into giving private lessons in philosophy, greek and latin while still in Italy and carried on up to today!

Major in classic Italian Literature as well as ancient Greek and ancient Latin.

About the lesson

Depeding from your level of familiarity with the language there's different ways to approach it.

If you're at a beginner level, we'll cover the basic grammar together and from there we'll transition in more complex sentences and conversation.

I believe conversation is fundamental! The best way to master a new language is to incorporate it in your everyday life, it should be fun and not feel like "homework".

All kinds of students, no one is too young or too old to start learning something new.

Look for someone you can potentially get along with.

Everything is more enjoyable if you like the company! Also, when it comes to languages it's always better to look for someone that is mother tongue or studied those subjects in depth.

You would be surprised on how quickly is possible to learn.

A student I'm very fond of when she first started learning was feeling a little lost and confused, but after getting the hang of it and some extra practice, in less than a month she was able to text me in italian and cover everyday conversations.

It made me so proud! Stick to it and everything will be possible.

Why are you learning this language?

What level do you want to achieve, and are you willing to put in the work to do it?

And last but not least, which methods work the best for me when it comes to learning and memorization?

Some people work very well with colors, or with games or flashcards, while some others need a more linear way of teaching with textbooks and exercises.

50 $ / hour is the standard rate.

If you live far away from Hollywood it might be a little more because of travel expenses, or remain the same if you're willing to come to me or meet halfway.
