About Henri-Nicolas
I am a native French speaker from south-west France who grew up in Washington, DC. I recently graduated from George Washington University with a master's degree in national security studies and I have a history BA from King's College London.
I am an effective communicator and an eager teacher. I was recognized for delivering the "best ever" undergraduate presentation in one of my classes. I would be more than happy to learn more about your needs to provide the best bespoke tutoring services possible.
I discovered in university that I learn most effectively by teaching others what I need to know. From this, I led discussion groups after class for students who needed additional support.
I recently graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History. I have extensive research experience, both from my academic background but also from my professional career in congress and the private sector.
I am a native French speaker from the Southwest (Biarritz) and attended a bilingual school my entire life. I speak French at home, read French books and articles and participate actively in the French community. At King's College London, I was the President of the Francophone Debate Society.

When working with a student, I start with a dialogue to put the student at ease so that I can assess his or her strengths and weaknesses in the given subject.
From there, I will formulate a plan of action to most effectively help the student reach their goals.
I have worked with students of all ages, including undergraduate college students.
To be honest about what they perceive is their needs in the matter and not be embarassed about it. The tutor is not there to do the student's homework but to make sure that the student learns the skills and knowledge that will help them thrive.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should talk to their teachers in school to help assess their needs.
Students should ask themselves if their difficulties stem from skill or knowledge. For example, a French student should ask his/herself if they have difficulty learning vocabulary or if they have difficulty understanding structure.
Recommendations
Recommendations are written by the tutor's friends, family, and acquaintances.
Trained as a historian at one of the most prestigious institutions in the UK, Henri is a fascinating teacher on the French language, culture and history. He possesses a great deal of knowledge, and is overall a very pleasant person to speak with. I would strongly recommend anyone who is interested in learning about French and history to talk to Henri.
Throughout my life, many educators I have met preferred to settle for mediocrity — Henri Grossman is not one of them. Indeed, rarely have I met someone so dedicated to making sure his students excel in what they do. A true perfectionist, he does not hesitate to stay beyond his billed hours to make sure what he teaches is learned. He personally follows-up in his free time to make sure that his students are progressing well. He can be reached at all times of night and day. His passion for History and the French language is truly visceral, and his patience is remarkable. In sum, the only thing you'll regret is not having met him sooner.
