First, we go through any known problem-areas, areas of confusion, or upcoming test areas. After assessing these and determining what the student already knows, we work towards the specified goal, whether it be test-prep or simply a stronger understanding.
I have worked with students in Middle School, High School, and College. I have worked with students who are much more quantitative and prefer rules, and I have worked with students who are much more conceptual and prefer real-life examples.
Tutoring should be something you look forward to! The right teacher can make a subject more inviting and less daunting.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out

He really understood my needs and worked to make his tutoring match those needs! I could tell it was personalized for my course, and he was super friendly. He had good knowledge about what other students struggled with and made sure I didn't struggle as well!
