About Anya
My LinkedIn: (concealed information)
Hi there :)
My name is Anya Graffuis, and I am a 19 year old Neurodivergent Computer Science student enrolled full time at the University of Glasgow in Scotland. However, I decided to take a gap year and return back to my studies in 2023. In the meantime, I wanted to find a way to stay involved in education despite being gone from university. That's why I created Tutor Time with Anya. My mission is to create a safe and comfortable learning environment that is inclusive for all my students.
My Educational History/Qualifications:
When I was 16 years old I started an Early College Program which allowed me to be enrolled at Portland Community College in Portland Oregon where I completed my associates degree. During my time at PCC, I was apart of the school's math club and excelled in all of my courses. However, the pandemic that started in 2020 really impacted my ability to perform well in school. It exacerbated the autistic burnout and the adhd struggles I was slowly approaching. These struggles pushed me to move back home.
In December of 2020, I moved back home to Florida where I studied Computer Science for a short time at the University of Central Florida. I absolutely hated the way the instructors treated their students and immediately started looking for a different school. Thats how I decided to study abroad which landed me a spot at the University of Glasgow in Scotland.
I understand there's a lot to read but I wanted to be as transparent with my educational experiences as possible. I have dealt with a lot of professors and different types of higher level course work and I know it can get confusing at times.
Thanks for reading and I hope to learn with you :)
