About Samantha

I am passionate about helping kids reaching their academic goals, aiding their holistic academic growth and making it FUN! I think it’s so important for kids to have some sort of connection to what they’re learning to invest in it. I am here to help make that connection and support them in their areas of need.

I am a California Credentialed Teacher and have been tutoring for the past 5 years. I have spent 4 years working I classrooms. I have worked on the individual level as well as small group settings. I am qualified and capable of tutoring K-8th students in all subject areas.

At Point Loma Nazarene, I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 3.9 GPA in Education. I was awarded Student Athlete of the Year and consistently remained on the Dean’s List.

I love to work with kids and help make a difference. I believe in making their tutoring personalized to their specific learning needs and supporting their growth.

About the lesson

The first session I will speak with the parent and student to go over any tests, homework, etc. that shows their areas of needed growth. With the student, we will create a list of tanglible academic goals to achieve. Our first session will close with some assessment created by me to understand exactly the student’s current level with the specified subject.

I have worked with a range of students Kindergarten through 8th grade. I have 5 years of experience working with English Language Learners, employing SDAIE strategies. I have worked with students with a range of special learning needs in the San Diego Unified School District.

I would seek to find a teacher with a credential. Beyond the subject knowledge, we are able to deliver individual instruction with specific strategies that facilitate learning rather than just regurgitating information.
