About Hannah
I'm passionate about developing students into clear communicators and analytical thinkers—two skills which are essential in the modern world. Understanding the foundations of English will shape learners holistically and equip them for life beyond the classroom.
As a life-long bookworm and grammar nerd, I love helping students cultivate their English skills and grow confident in their writing abilities. In my time working as an English teacher, I enjoyed guiding students to explore diverse perspectives with curiousity and empathy. I find teaching most rewarding when a student grows in their ablity to communicate their ideas and opinions in a clear, creative, and convincing manner.
Teaching has always been a foundational part of my personality. It's a running joke in my family: my younger brother was my first student, and he knew how to read by the age of four! I find it deeply fulfilling to come alongside students in their educational journey.
I received an undergraduate degree in English and History. I've also completed a rigorous Masters degree program and taught English in a private school. In the past, I also served as a substitute teacher in Fayette County. I'm currently employed at a university and enjoy working with students.

I provide an initial consultation with a new student to assess where they're at academically, which materials they are using, and how I can be of assistance. From that point, I'll then make a plan for future meetings in order to most efficiently support the student.
I've worked with students from a variety of backgrounds and baseline skill levels. I love the challenge of figuring out how to communicate most effectively with different types of learners and will tailor my methods to best suit their learning style.
