About Michael

I am a teacher and writer from Britain who lives in Japan. I have been teaching English to Japanese students for 15 years and therefore have a very good understanding of the kind of help that such students need, their weak points and how to improve them. I teach with a mixture of techniques, and make the lessons both enjoyable and useful.

Before that I taught sociology, psychology and history in Britain. I have a Sociology and Psychology degree from Glasgow Caledonian University, a Masters degree from the University of Edinburgh, and a PGCE (a certificate in education which qualifies me to teach in colleges) from the Institute of Education, University College London.

I am also a writer, I have had more than 40 books published with a variety of publishers.

I started teaching in the year 2000 after qualifying from the Institute of Education, University of London.

About the lesson

I get to know student's needs and level and aims, and then teach them in a way that is helpful.

I have 20 years teaching experience with children, college students, working adults and retired people.
