About Jeremy
I look forward to working with improving your writing, reading, or language skills. I love helping students have the moment of enlightenment to improve their craft.
I was raised by teachers. My grandmother and mother and her sisters all work or have worked in education. Growing up, I was captain of many of my sports teams. I learned to lead and gain the respect of my teammates. In college, I became a wrestling coach for the local high school team. This led me to begin substituting for the school system. I fell in love with teaching then. I later worked in another county as a full time substitute for a year. This motivated me to go back to school and get my masters. In my masters, I taught basic ESL for three years. This snowballed into a career of teaching after finishing my MA.
I have a BA in Communications and a Masters in Applied Linguistics in teaching English as a second language.

We start with introductions. We move to ideas about our goal or aim for the session. What the student wants to accomplish. Then, the student gives me background or context, and we begin.
I have worked with K- adult learners. I've taught second language learners, first language learners as well.
My advice would be is to know that language learning (and writing) is a lifelong journey. It doesn't come with one day or class that you take. It is a marathon filled with valleys and peaks. Enjoy the trip and know there will be good days amd challenging days to come in their learnkng process.
A recent event I am fond of is the class I am taking right now. Each week I meet with my class to discuss strategies about how to use and implement digital stories in the classroom.
