About Sarah

A storyteller's job is not to tell others what to think, but to give them something to think about. I enjoy the great beauty of the every day written word. One of my largest goals in life is to help others to tell their own best stories. Everything we write is a story, and I intend to help in any way needed. If you're in need of short fiction development editing, line editing, or helping a young person with an English essay, I'll be along for the ride to help you learn techniques to set you on your own best path.

I most enjoy the "ah ha!" moment when a scene comes together. The great sigh of relief after a writer knows that their idea is both valid and lovely. It's a wonder to see when someone realizes that they have a story to tell and can do so in a meaningful way.

I received my undergraduate in 2017 from Southern New Hampshire University in Creative Writing and English, Summa Cum Laude, as a member of several English Honors Societies. I am presently working on my thesis for an MFA in Speculative Fiction Storytelling.

About the lesson

I like to get to know a person and their goals before moving forward. Are you working on a project for a class? Have you been writing in a vaccum or with a workshop? Are we looking at fiction or non-fiction? If the person is under age, I ask to meet with the parents as well and find out about their concerns.

I've helped mostly young adult and adult students with their creative writing and research essays. I have taught several children how to read and strongly promote childhood literacy.

Find someone you can be comfortable talking to, who is honest but not brutally so, and will realize that your story is just that: your story.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What is the real root cause of the issue? In fiction, it could be any number of craft or writing elements. Can you identify the root cause? If not exactly, what few things could it be? Is there a deadline you must adhere to and if so can the person you're asking be available to help?

Skype Tutoring - $25 hourly
