About Emun

I hold a Bachelor's degree in English, with an emphasis in Mass Communications. This has allowed me to tutor in English/essay writing and creative writing, work as a freelance ghost writer, and create content for various websites. Grammar, use of punctuation, organization of ideas, and sentence/paragraph structure are crucial to coherent and quality writing. Therefore, these are the areas I focus on while helping my students sharpen their skills.

I am also a filmmaker, and hold an MFA in Film Production. I have extensive knowledge of every aspect of the film/video production process. I have completed dozens of projects in the genres of documentary, video interview, short-film, music video, web-series, and more. My skill-set covers video editing, videography, directing, producing, 3D design and visual effects, and screenwriting. This has allowed me to teach workshops, and provide consulting, to local artists, indie producers, and under-served teens in the areas of filmmaking and video production.

I love the idea of helping people enhance their skills. This allows them to maximize thier potential, become more competitive in the job-market, access diverse opportunities, and excel in school/college. A multidisciplinary, developed, skill-set is the most powerful asset one can have. I know that helping someone build and refine such a skill-set will have a meaningful, lasting, affect on the rest of their life. That is the real "payoff" for me.

About the lesson

I assess the areas in which the student is weak or strong. At that point, I explain how we will address the weak areas, and what lessons we will work on. I also ask the student what areas they feel more (or less) deficient in, which ensures that my process is never "One size fits all."
