About Sam
I'm a 3rd-year college student majoring in the humanities. I'm passionate about writing and am an avid reader.
I grew up overseas and have experience working with children with learning disabilities, so I'm the best choice to help students who are really struggling. I went through math tutoring in high school for dyscalculia, so I can empathize with those who want a little extra support.
This will be my first time tutoring, but I have experience helping my younger brother through his classes. I also enjoy helping my friends revise their papers or practice their English skills. I've done marketing writing for ELG, a program for children with special needs based in Shanghai, China.

I've always been passionate about learning and education. I realized that tutoring is a great job choice for me.
I'm a 3rd-year college student majoring in the humanities.
I've also volunteered for ELG, a program for children and young adults with special needs, working in their marketing department and directly with clients.

I spend my first session getting to know students. I make sure to ask about my students' needs and set goals with them. Each session, we'll work toward those goals. I also like to get to know students' personalities and interests and find a way to work with those for students.
This is my first time tutoring, but I've volunteered in classrooms for children who have learning and/or developmental disabilities. I'm best suited to children and young adults with low support needs. I can also work with neurotypical people.
I recommend finding someone who is passionate about their subject area and who will meet your individual needs. I think it's important for teachers to be flexible and let lessons be student-driven.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I think students should ask themselves what their goals and needs are before meeting with teachers. It's okay if you can't answer those questions yet, as long as you're thinking about it.
