About Brianna

I am a doctoral student in clinical psychology. My services stand out because I utilize a holistic and person-centered approach. By integrating psychological concepts (i.e., executive functioning) with academic tutoring, my strategies improve the long-term retention of material and aid in developing sustainable strategies for continued success. I also enjoy incorporating a few minutes of physical movement at the beginning of sessions to stimulate the senses and increase brain activity.

I enjoy working with children and adults of all ages with a myriad of learning styles. It brings me much joy to see my students progress and begin to comprehend the material being discussed. I find it very rewarding to see my students conquer a task and become more and more independent and confident with their own work as session move forward.

Through my own academic journey and getting accepted to a doctoral program in clinical psychology, I am well versed in not only reading and writing, but also in preparation techniques for standardized tests (i.e., GRE, SAT), school/job interviews, personal statements, public speaking, and interpersonal communication.

I offer a well-rounded and personalized approach to tutoring that focuses on the mind-body connection, self-awareness, self-love, and of course, the journey to greater understanding.

I started providing educational material on social media platforms for children with learning difficulties in 2019 which included interviewing and meeting with parents and children that were affected by these challenges. I started training adults in 2019 as well, primarily in scientific writing and psychological theories which has grown since.

My yoga practice has developed over the years and I have started teaching my friends and family. I plan to start my yoga certification course this summer.

I am a masters students starting a doctoral program in clinical psychology fall 2022 and have published and presented several articles in peer-reviewed journals. I have taken and exceled in numerous standardized tests (i.e., SAT, GRE), with english and writing scores in the 95th percentile. I have experience working with students of all ages with learning difficulties such as ADHA, ADD, ODD, and OCD. With adults, I have several years of experience in academic and scientific writing.

In my spare time over the past 10+ years, I have developed a strong yoga practice that I would love to share with you all!

About the lesson

When starting with a new student, I like to meet with both the caregiver and child, depending on the student's age, to better understand the areas of greatest need and the areas where the child excels. It is also important for me to ascertain your childs learning style and how they retain information best. Not everyone knows their learning style but not to worry, we will figure that out together by using different approaches until it feels right. I will individualize my strategies based on the students personality, skills, and challenges to ensure we have the most beneficial plan of action. An agenda for each tutoring session will be created for each session and progress reports will be emailed after completion to parents if requested.

When working with adults, the first session will be dedicated to understanding where the individual requires guidance and mapping out a plan of action for our time together.

All my tutoring students have the option to get yoga training! I find that beginning a session with 5-10 minutes of physical movement awakens the mind and increases focus.

I have worked with children and adults of all ages.
