About Sheridan
I am a current fourth grade teachers for the White River school district with six years of teaching experience. I have an undergraduate degree as well as a masters degree, both from the University of Washington and love working with elementary school aged children. I am looking to help students in both ELA as well as math and help them build their self confidence.
I have an undergraduate degree in sociology with a minor in nutritional sciences as well as a masters degree in education with a focus in English Language learners. Both degrees are from the University of Washington. After graduating with my undergraduate degree I was a 2015 corps member for Teach For America where I moved to Texas and taught first grade before moving back to Washington, getting my masters degree and teaching fourth grade.

When I begin to work with a new student I start by acquiring grade level work for both subjects to get an idea of what their current skills are as well as areas that show room for growth. I specialize in finding strategies that are specific for the student. A great example of this is from when I worked with a student who "struggled" and disliked school but was very creative and love to draw. Finding a passion like art allowed me to teach that particular student how to use drawing to take "notes" when reading to help him better comprehend and engage with text that he was reading.

My daughter has such a great time at her tutoring sessions. She looked forward to each session and it really built her confidence to advance into the next grade.
Mrs. Aubert tailored her lessons to fit my child’s needs. Instead of trying to force him to fit her ideals, she sees every student as an individual and teaches them accordingly!
Mrs. Aubert was amazing with our son. She not only helped him get ready for his 5th grade year, but she build confidence in him that we had not seen!!! She worked around our schedule and he looked forward to it every week. She made sure that when he did start 5th grade, he was not only ready, but that HE KNEW he was ready! We would do it again in a heart beat! She is the VERY BEST!
