About James
I started teaching right out of high school, taking students from all around Ogden, usually through friends/acquaitances.
I have nearly a decade of eduction through private instruction and academic channels; I am currently pursuing a collegiate education in music and music technology at the University of Utah.

Goals are important, especially with older or more experienced players. Lesson cirricului will always be tailored to what a student wants to do with the skills they will acquire, and, importantly, be approached systematically and methodically, with a particular pedagogy for building comprehensive and deep knowledge.
Primarily young adults/kids, from late elementary to high school.
Find a teacher who actually teaches, as opposed to lecuturing, and one who builds competence as opposed to repertoir.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What is your goal in music? How much time and effort can you put into reaching that goal? These two questions will inform almost every aspect of both teaching and learning.

James is both a talented musician and teacher. You can really tell he enjoys what he is doing. He is good at breaking things down into small pieces for my 8 year old to be able to learn. Since we have started I lessons I have seen great progress.

Details
My standard rates are $25/hour for 1-hour sessions or $30/hour for 30-minute sessions. However, I never want pricing to be a limiting factor for new students, so these figures are negotiable.
