Andrew has been my son’s drum instructor for the last 10 years. I have seen Andrew’s approach and teaching style with my son from ages 6-16. I interviewed 6 other teachers before Andrew. Andrew’s easy demeanor, and depth of knowledge really set him apart from other teachers. Without a doubt the best teacher available.

Andrew worked with our son, Michael for many, many years at our home in Rye. He was always punctual, smiling and enthusiastic. He loves what he does and it shows! He taught our son so much and Michael still plays. Andrew has a great disposition and attitude. He knows a lot and has a great teaching technique. I have recommended him to friends and neighbors! Andrew has been my 11 year old son’s teacher for 4 years. I cannot say enough positive things about Andrew’s passion as an educator, depth of knowledge and technical ability as a drummer, and his ability to pass both to his student. I interviewed 7 teachers before we started studying with Andrew. He was not only the most qualified (by a long shot), but he most easily connected with my young son. After almost 200 lessons my sons finishes his lesson each week and says, “I think that was the best lesson we’ve ever had”. As a musician with 35 years of playing under my belt, I’m floored at the choices my son makes when he improvises. He can play “rock” drums, but his playing style is not immediately identifiable. He is learning from a much broader palate of skills and ability. In the times my son has not played his best Andrew will not criticize, he simply asks my son if that was his best. My son has NEVER left a lesson with a negative attitude or feeling down about his ability. He has said to me, “Andrew knew I could do better, and he brought it out of me”. Recently, my son was practicing before school (6:45am) and I asked him “why”? He said, “I want to give Andrew my best”. To me that says an enormous amount about the teacher student connection. I can recommend Andrew without hesitation. He quite literally is the best.

Andrew taught both of my school age sons for a few years and I have been studying with him for a few years as well.
He is an incredibly talented musician and teacher. He is passionate about his craft and teaches his lessons with patience and clarity. Most of all he adapts to each students style and and makes learning drums fun.
